Bad Lessons

The first lessons the old members teach the new members is lateness.

The second lesson is absenteeism.

These two bad attitudes kill discourage the new members from coming to the ministry and from continuing their attendance to the ministry.

The following are the signs of carelessness, carefreeness and indiscipline

1.     Failing to attend activities.

2.     Failure to attend on time.

3.     Failure to perform one’s duties regularly and punctually.

4.     Always waiting to told, reminded, persuaded or forced.

5.     Coming to events and occasions to stay idle.

6.     Coming to events and occasions to be lazy.

7.     Pretending as if you do not know that there are duties to be performed.

8.     Failure to obtain permission before absenting oneself.

9.     Failure to inform the ministry before leaving the ministry.

10.                        Switching off the phone so that nobody can reach you. In this ministry, it is compulsory that you phone must be on always. If you do not want other people to be calling you on the phone, you have to provide yourself one separate phone for this ministry, which phone must always be switched on. It is quite disappointing and heartbreaking that on several occasions ministers are called on the phone and the phones are switched off.

11.                        It is also very bad attitude to work that you are told when to come or do something, and you keep yourself away doing some other things. Even if you have other things to do, you should first arrive on time and open the gate or arrange the works to be done before going away.

12.                        The worst aspect is that you fail to handover to another person, and you fail to tell others.

13.                        Another very bad thing lazy workers do is that they should inform the head. Instead of doing this, they go to inform their fellow workers or mates.

14.                        When a person is being given work to do, he readily and willingly accepts the work, only to go behind and handover the work to another person.

15.                        Failure to keep necessary records of events, instructions, teachings, reminders, schedules, assignments, duties, etc. therefore, attending prayers and worship or meetings and events with pen and paper is both good and compulsory.

16.                        Gossiping about others.

17.                        Often complaining without reporting to the appropriate authorities.

18.                        Attending meetings and deliberations, and keeping silent, as if you have nothing to say. Only to be making series of complains after the gathering have dispersed.

19.                        Condemning your fellow workers, and thereby creating divisions, discouragements and crisis.

20.                        The very bad attitude of feeling that you are greater and better than others, without giving necessary corrections and teachings to help others progress in life.

21.                        Failure to make necessary payments, offerings, tithes, first fruits, levies and contributions. It is equally very bad to make the payments very late, without good reasons.

22.                        Helping outsiders, when people around you are suffering from hunger and needs.

23.                        Etc.
